12 Year Old Boy Finds 5.16ct Diamond Jewelry Boca Raton

A 12 year old named, Michael Dettlaff,  from North Carolina was visiting Arkansas’ Crater Of Diamonds State Park for the first time ever two weeks ago. Within less than 10 minutes of searching, he lucked out and found a 5.16-carat, honey brown diamond jewelry Boca Raton! He decided to call it “God’s Glory Diamond.” Michael, who is a boy scout, was in the north end of the diamond searching area when he spotted the diamond, which is really rare. The gem is the 27th largest diamond that was discovered by a visitor of the park since it became a state park officially back in 1972. One park staff member said, “It is the eighth-largest brown diamond that has been certified by park staff.” The “God’s Glory Diamond” was actually found near an area that the 15.33-carat Star of Arkansas, which is  a white diamond. The Star of Arkansas was found in that area back in 1956! It is apparently the third largest diamond to come from the park. The area where you can search for diamonds  is a 37 and a half acre plowed field. It is the world’s only diamond producing site that is open to the public. The diamonds that are found are either yellow, brown, and white. Only two diamonds, on average, are found each day at the state park.  Over 75,000 diamonds have been discovered at the diamond site! The largest diamond that was ever discovered in the United States was called The Uncle Sam. It was found back in 1924. It was a white diamond with a pink cast. This diamond weighed 40.23 carats!
