6 Things to Remember When Holiday Shopping
Whether you are shopping for him and her, one thing to keep in mind is how you will be shopping. This may seem simple, but one of the worst feelings is to give someone a gift they really don’t want. Gift giving has become more than just some selfless thing you do. The receiver wants much more than just a simple gift, and if you don’t give something worth while, expect something below average in return. Or even worse. So in order to cut out all that awkwardness, stay in the loupe with 6 things to remember when holiday shopping.
1. If she/he Tells you What They Want GET IT: Most people that have been in very long relationships can feel me on this one. Usually if your significant other requests a certain something, THATS WHAT THEY WANT! I never understood how some guys still managed to go against the grain when it was so clear cut what was to be given. For example if she says something like “I would like a Michael Kors Watch” and that fits your budget, just get it!
2. Pay Close Attention and LISTEN: One of the main reasons why gift giving goes terribly wrong is because we don’t listen! I’m sorry guys, but sometimes you let things slide and don’t pay too much attention in conversation. It is crucial you start hanging on to every word your lady says because in passing she could reveal what she wants for the holidays. This saves a lot of time and of course, drama.
3. Don’t be Afraid to Ask for Help: If you are buying a nice gift from a retailer, don’t refuse help. Even if you are at a clothing store that you may think is pretty manageable ask for help. Sales people ultimately know the products better than you and can give you the best value item for the fairest price.
4. Don’t Cancel Out Pre Owned Items: A lot of people have this bad taste in their mouth about pre owned jewelry and hands bags. Just because something is “pre owned” doesn’t necessarily make it a disgusting item that has been worn down to the brim. Boca Raton Pawn is a perfect example of good quality jewelry, watches, and handbags FOR A FRACTION OF THE PRICE. If you are tight on money and still want to get a gift that is over the moon, pre owned is the way to go!
5. Don’t Buy at the First Place you go: Some people think that the item is going to evaporate the second they leave the store. Usually if you shop around the prices do vary a bit. Once you find a price that satisfies you, go back and then make the purchase! This will save you a hefty amount.
6. WRAP IT UP NICE: Presentation. Is. Key. This is not a joke. It is something to do with your psych, this physical representation of a gift does make it a more desirable item. Ask your retailer if it can be gift wrapped. If there is no gift wrapping available make sure you can find a place to handle that for you.
Good luck and may the gift choices be in your favor!
