The Scrunchie is Back in Fashion Boca Raton

Growing up in the 80’s and 90’s, it was hard not to have your mom slap a scrunchie in your hair for school and call it a day.  The scrunchie is back, and has been seen around the fashion in Boca Raton, and oh how we never realized how much we missed them. It’s a trend that for a few years have made a slow but huge comeback in the fashion world that none of us (especially those who were 90’s babies) ever saw coming. The famous people of back then rocked scrunchies as if it was their job and made it look cool.

From Madonna and Paula Abdul rocking scrunchies in their music videos, to the infamous red scrunchie from the cult classic film ‘The Heathers’, to Lisa, Jessie and Kelly of the show ‘Saved by the Bell’, scrunchies made their landmark in the 80’s/90’s only to have a fierce comeback in high fashion.

The scrunchie revolution came back to us quietly last season, with Ashish, Marc Jacobs and Louis Vuiton all backing the trend. Granted, American Apparel clothing store has been rocking scrunchies in their store for the past 7 years but the high fashion industry has taken it to whole new levels. The fashion industry truly has embraced scrunchies in a way we never considered in this day and age. Now scrunchies are creating runway messy buns and ponytails, and in fashion campaigns making everything look so much better.
