Audemars Boca Raton Royal Oak Offshore
The first Audemars Piguet Royal Oak “Offshore” was introduced in 1993. Since it’s inception, it has become one of the most popular luxury sport watches on the market today. While it’s design has stayed similar throughout it’s 21 year history, it has received many upgrades, especially in 2014. The new Royal Oak Offshore’s feature a more refined feel all around, along with minor changes to the cases and dials; and not to mention the new sapphire skeleton backs. The new Audemars Boca Raton look and feel amazing.
First, there is no more rubber on the case for accents. This has been replaced with black ceramic specifically on the pushers and crown. They have also been re-sized to flow better with the case. All of the new Royal Oak Offshore’s have the reference number 26470. The dials too have been updated. The Mega Tapisserie is very crisp and the sub dials have circular graining which adds texture. Also, now the hands are faceted which gives the dial a brighter look making it easier to read.
Now, if you turn over the case, you will see something none of the previous Offshore models had, a sapphire skeleton case back. Now, you can see the stunning movement housed inside these amazing watches. The Offshore’s have a calibre 3126 modular chronograph movement with a 22 karat gold rotor.
For 2014 there are six different Offshore models. Four of them are in stainless steel and the other two are rose gold. The stainless steel cases can be paired with one of four dials: navy and white, black and red, grey on grey, or “Safari”. Both rose gold cases feature rose gold dials but one is on a black alligator strap while the other features a full rose gold bracelet.
The 2014 Royal Oak Offshore collection went on sale in April. The price for the steel models is $25,600 on rubber straps and $26,000 on hornback alligator straps. The rose gold model is $40,700 on the strap and $69,200 on the bracelet.
