Sell Breitling Boca Raton
When I think of Breitling today I think of a large, maybe even over-sized, chronograph watch. I think of guys with big silver chains with tank tops and huge muscles wearing them. Recently, they have become the perfect watch for “juice heads”. However, they used to be designed for pilots. They were functional watches designed to keep great time and last forever. Yes, they have always been large watches, but that’s because the dial needed to show a lot of information. To me, vintage Breitling’s were special watches. Today, they are just big fashion statements. So I was thrilled when I heard of the newest edition to the Breitling line, the Chronoliner. It’s a modern watch with the classic vintage Breitling look. And while most think of sell Breitling Boca Raton watches as for pilots, just as much of their heritage was devoted to the sea.
Breitling has been getting back to basics for a little while now. Last month the Transocean 1915 Mono-Pusher Chrono was introduced and before that the 38 mm Transocean Chrono. Breitling said that it drew inspiration from older vintage models. And if we look at the Chronoliner in that light we will see exactly what they were talking about. Even though the registers are at 6, 9, and 12 instead of the normal 3, 6, and 9 it might have taken inspiration from the Uni-Time, which looks very similar to this new Chronoliner. Just look at the bezel, they are almost the same. And the blacked out date window is similar to a 1950’s 765 Avi.
The Chronoliner is large. It’s case measures 46 mm which is pretty big even by today’s standards. But if you look back, its predecessor the Co-Pilot was 43 mm at its largest. So adjusting for size inflation, 46 mm is about right. As far as modern upgrades go, it now has a scratch resistant ceramic bezel, incredibly luminescent hands and markers, and a GMT function indicated by a long thin hand with red arrow. Inside the solid case back you will find the Breitling Caliber 24 movement. It is basically a modified ETA Valjoux 7754 movement which is considered a workhouse by many. The Chronoliner is a certified chronometer which means it meats very strict timing specifications.
