Most of the time, though, we end up with less than we had hoped. Much less. But what happens when one day your prayers are answered and you make way more than you ever expected? Here is the story of one lucky lady who was caught off-guard with a hefty offer for her items.
A Ruby in the Rough – Boca Raton Pawn
A woman named Crystal walked into her local pawn shop with some gems she found in the home of her grandmother. Unfortunately, her grandmother had just recently passed away and she was in desperate need of money to have her buried. The lady was very friendly to the owner of the shop, so he had his gem expert take a look at the things she had brought in. The woman wasn’t expecting much; she wasn’t looking to make more than $50 to $100 for the stones. The stones were appraised and many of them were nothing but glass, but one stone was a real ruby. The owner told Crystal he could give her $10,000 and she was so happy that she did not even negotiate. Almost sounds like something you’d hear about on those scripted shows on television, don’t you think?
