War of the E-readers: Amazon vs. Barnes & Noble

Now that Amazon and Barnes & Noble came out with their backlit e-readers that illuminate the screen, you no longer have to worry about keeping your partner up when reading in bed. But between the Kindle Paperwhite and the Nook Simple Touch with GlowLight, which is the best option for you?

War of the E-readers: Amazon vs. Barnes & Noble

Both the Kindle Paperwhite and the Nook Simple Touch with GlowLight are the same price at $119, so it may be hard to choose which you prefer. They both have a series of LEDs in the bottom edge, although the Nook is short two LEDs along the top. They both also use fiber-optic technology that spreads light evenly over the screen.

Early reviews make out the Paperwhite to be better than the Nook Simple Touch with GlowLight, but it does have its downfalls – mainly ads. So, if you want to dodge the lame advertisements on the Paperwhite, you’ll need to stick with the Barnes & Noble e-reader.
