Last week he was seen with his now fiance Amal Alamuddin showing off her new engagement ring Boca Raton. Clooney actually helped to design the ring which features a 7 carat emerald cut diamond. The ring is set in platinum and looks absolutely stunning. However, a 7 carat diamond ring is not in most people’s budget so here are a couple other options if you are in the market.
First is a beautiful round brilliant diamond in a halo setting. The center stone weighs .90 carats but appears much larger because of the halo. It is an E color and VS1 clarity. An E color is the second best color grade a diamond can receive. The color scale goes from D-Z with D being the best. As you can see E means the stone is extremely close to being colorless which makes it very rare and desirable. VS1 is also a very good clarity grade. It means the diamond is very slightly included and no inclusions can be seen with the naked eye. This ring is a great value at only $9,995.
Second, is a three stone diamond engagement ring. This style is very popular because it adds a lot of bling to your finger. With three large stones you get a lot of sparkle. The center stone weighs .75 carat. It is an H color and VS2 clarity. While H isn’t as good as the previous ring’s E rating, H is near colorless. In fact letters are usually grouped into threes where D, E, and F are similar and G, H, and I are similar. H is in the second grouping which means the stone looks very white and clean. VS2 means there are very slight inclusions and they are impossible to see with the naked eye. It is a great deal at only $5,995.
