American Horror Story: Freakshow Overview
WARNING THIS IS A SPOILER ALERT!! IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THE EPISODE READ AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION!
So the highly coveted television series American Horror Story is back and ready to take its show to new levels. We have watched the first season explode with Connie Britton in Murder House, then Asylum where Jessica Lange went to new heights in her acting, and of course last season Coven which brought on new talents like Emma Roberts. The cast is star studded with Kathy Bates as the bearded woman, Jessica Lange as the twisted ring leader, Evan Peters as lobster boy, Sarah Paulson as the double headed woman, and Angela Basett as the three breasted woman.
The First Episode: This episode opened with a scene of the milk man noticing one of his clients hasn’t been bringing her milk in upon delivery. He inspects the home and finds her limp body lifeless on the floor with the woman in a pool of her own blood. The scene shows the milk man further investigating the home where the scene cuts off giving the illusion the milk man is murdered.
The aspiring singer fame seeking ring leader played by Jessica Lange hears of a two headed woman and sneaks in to the hospital bed to speak with them. She recruits them to her freak show after admitting she knew about a suspected murder the two headed woman committed. The scene flashes back to of one of the heads stabbing her own mother continuously with scissors.
One of the most horrifying parts of the show is this clown figure. He is a psycho-path clown that is a serial killer. He murders everyone in his wake, but for some reason is collecting certain individuals and locking them in his rustic van.
After a detective comes looking for the two headed woman for the murder of their mother, the freak show gang slits his throat and brings him outside to have the freaks stab him continuously. In the background you see the scary clown watching from afar observing.
We cannot wait to see what else this season has in store for us. I know personally I couldn’t fall asleep last night. Word of advice, watch this show with a friend, boyfriend, mom, anyone. This is going to be the scariest season to date we can predict that much from this first episode!
