Cartier Boca Raton
It has come to our attention that Cartier filed a lawsuit against Lugano Diamonds in California. Cartier has accused the Newport Beach jeweler of selling parrot and panther jewelry that looks almost identical to their most iconic pieces. The lawsuit includes both copyright and design patent infringement. Lugano is a high end jeweler that makes and designs jewelry and sells by appointment only. The whole suit began when someone working for Cartier noticed the parrot design on Lugano’s Facebook page. Then, Cartier sent someone to the showroom location where they were told the parrot necklace design was sold for $68,000 and that they could make and copy any other Cartier piece they liked. Lugano did not want to comment in regards to the lawsuit. Sell Cartier Boca Raton.
Cartier is also accusing Legano that they advertise and promote copies of Cartier’s famous Panthere design. The agent sent to Legano noticed a pair of copy Panthere earrings for sale along with a ring. These pieces were also posted on their Facebook account. Cartier has a US Copyright for the “Parrot Necklace” and has patents for the Panthere design. A month after the agent went to Legano and noticed the items for sale, Cartier sent Legano a cease-and-desist notice which they seemed to have ignored. Cartier has asked the court to block Legano from selling jewelry that infringes on their copyrights and patents and they are looking to recoup damages related to the case.
