2 – Feb. 25, 2005 – Schiphol Airport, Amsterdam – Possibly $118 million
After hijacking a KLM truck, thieves wearing KLM uniforms drove right up to a truck carrying uncut diamonds intended for a flight to Antwerp. The group forced the drivers out at gun point, with many people watching, hopped into the truck and drove away. Because of the KLM uniforms and the easy access to a KLM truck, police suspected inside help. The uncut diamonds were never found.
3 – Dec. 4, 2008 – Harry Winston store, Paris, France – Approximately $107 million
Around 5:30 in the afternoon, four men, some with female clothing and wigs, walked into the Windston store, right across the street from a Parisian police station. With a very accurate knowledge of the premises and name of the employes, the group employees and costumes at gun point and stole around $107 million in jewelry and diamonds. Within 20 minutes they calmly walked out the store and drove away. The jewelry and the thieves were never found.
