Is Your Gold Jewelry Boca Raton Really Safe?

There are many places that we believe that it is safe to store our gold jewelry Boca Raton. This past weekend, close to $136 millions dollars worth of jewels was stolen from a Luxury Carlton Intercontinental Hotel in Cannes, Paris. So, that makes me question, is our jewelry really safe?

France Jewelry Heist

This is the third gem theft in the city of Cannes since May and it looks like it was done by a professional. This point was brought up by a reformed jewel thief. The thieves were wearing a scarf and hat and had a semiautomatic pistol and hand grenade and they threatened guests and exhibitors. Thankfully, nobody was hurt. There were security guards present, but they were unarmed. They got away with rings, watches, and earrings inlaid with precious stones.  The jewels were stolen from an Israeli Jewelry company founded by Israeli diamond mogul, Lev Leviev who is said to be Israel’s richest man. The thieves are thought to have an ” inside guy” who gave the thieves all the information they needed on where the jewelry was specifically located. This theory would make sense since they went inside in a matter of five minutes and knew exactly where to go. This heist is ranked to be biggest jewelry theft of all time and is now being called “the heist of the century.”

The fact that this whole heist was done in broad daylight and they walked away with the jewels in just a briefcase makes it even scarier. Even more odd, the Carlton Hotel is one of the major locations in “To Catch A Thief” which is the classic Hitchcock film about a retired jewelry thief.
