It might seem somewhat unlikely, but with the popularity of cable TV shows like Pawn Stars and Hardcore Pawn , together with a tough economy, pawn shops are in the public spotlight like never before. Most people know you can get some quick cash at a pawn shop for things like jewelry, watches and all kinds of Consumer Goods, but with more and more people needing a quick loan pawn shop owners around the world are reporting that some pretty strange things are coming out of closets and attics and showing up in their shops.
A pawnbroker in Australia recently reported a customer bringing in a collection of authentic shrunken heads. Another shop owner shelled out some cash for an alleged piece of the UFO that crashed in Roswell, NM. Other weird things include prosthetic limbs, a haunted piano and a relatives ashes complete with urn.
So if don’t have any more prosaic Consumer Goods to pawn, start thinking outside the box. If you don’t get the loan, at least you can give a pawnbroker a good laugh.
