One of the most important and luxurious watch brands in the world is turning 175 years old. To celebrate this important mark, Patek Philippe is releasing a limited-edition Grandmaster Chime Ref. 5175 watch, Patek Philippe 2.6 Million Dollar Watch. This gorgeous watch is the Swiss brand’s most complicated and elaborate timepiece to date.

The $2.6 million watch is made of 18kt rose gold, features six new watchmaking patents and 20 complications, among them a leap-year cycle, moon phase and second time zone. The watch features two faces: one  is dedicated to the full, instantaneous perpetual calendar and the other that focuses on the time and sonnerie. 

Patek Philippe made only seven Grandmaster Chime watches. Six of them will be sold to a very exclusive number of long lasting collectors and the seventh will be displayed at the Patek Philippe Museum in Geneva.

Another cool fact about the  Grandmaster Chime is that it took 100,000 hours to development, production and assembly of the watch, of which 60,000 hours for the components of the movement. Its movement consists of 1366 parts, each case of 214 separate parts and 20 complications, which include day-of-week display, moon phase, a leap year cycleare packed into a 47,4/16,1 mm rose gold case.
