Rolex Sky-Dweller Sighting
After months of waiting the Rolex Sky-Dweller has finally made an appearance in Authorized Rolex Dealer stores. They were introduced in Basel World earlier this year and everyone was awaiting their arrival. They are one of the last new models introduced this year to be seen for sale.
While some people can’t justify spending almost $50,000 for a watch, others couldn’t wait to pull the trigger. If you search the Rolex Forms online you will see threads dedicated to people who have already purchased theirs and have shared pictures.
The Rolex Sky-Dweller features a new function never-before-seen from Rolex: a perpetual calendar. The watch displays the month, day, and two time zones. Other high end watch companies like Patek Philippe and Audemars Piguet had perpetual calenders and Rolex wanted to be included.
The display on the Sky-Dweller is unlike any perpetual calender on the market. The month is displayed with a marker outside of the time marker, each number has one marker for the 12 months of the year and 12 hours of the day.
The Sky-Dweller comes in three versions, for now. There is all all white gold model, and all yellow gold model, and a Rose gold model with a leather strap. The white gold is the most expensive with a retail price of $48,850, yellow gold is $46,150, and the rose gold is $39,550.
Go to your local Authorized Dealer and check it out for yourself. It is a polarizing watch that you will either love or hate.
