Founded in 1851, Patek Phillipe designs and manufactures timepieces and movements including some of the most complicated mechanical watches. The brand is known for selling some of the most expensive watches in the world. Some of these watches were a “Ref. 5002P Sky Moon Tourbillon” platinum watch, sold in 2008, in Hong Kong Sotheby’s for $1.4 million. In 2010, a Patek Phillipe yellow gold with a perpetual calendar and a moonphase dial, was sold at auction for $5.5 million.

To celebrate their 175th anniversary, Patek Phillipe introduced new watches at the Baselworld 2014. The Baselworld is a trade show of the international watch and jewelry industry, organized each spring in the city of Basel, Switzerland. Every year, all of the top brands in the watch business introduce some of their new watches for the world to see.
