Tiffany & Co. might be the most recognizable jewelry company in the world.  Known for exquisite pieces and their little blue box, Tiffany & Co. has been in business for 178 years.  They are an iconic company that only continues to grow over time.  They have been able to stay relevant because they are leaders in their industry.  And they are going to continue that reputation by featuring their first same sex couple in an ad for wedding jewelry.  This is the first time a major jeweler will feature same sex couples in a national ad campaign.  What’s even more amazing about the ad is that the two men featured are not models or actors, they are an actual real-life couple.  Tiffany & Co. Boca Raton is definitely going to make some headlines with their new ad.

The new ad campaign will be called “Will You?”.  It is going to be shot by famous fashion photographer Peter Lindbergh.  The spring 2015 campaign takes a “truly modern look at love, the proposal and marriage,” Tiffany said.  The ad will feature seven different scenes of couples.  The ad with the same sex couple will be of a real-life couple.  They are together seated on a New York City stoop.  The text in the ad reads “Will you promise to never stop completing my sentences or singing off-key, which I am afraid you do often? And will you let today be the first sentence of one long story that never ever ends? Will you?”  Tiffany said that the scenes in “Will You?” are meant to capture the exact moment when the couples realized they were supposed to spend the rest of their lives together.

Tiffany & Co. is not the only jewelry company to support the LGBT community, but they are the largest.  Rogers and Hollands is a family owned jeweler who added Rony Tennenbaum’s line of wedding jewelry that supports the LGBT community in their two Chicago area stores.

The “Will You?” campaign only features one same sex couple, but the other scenes in it make it obvious Tiffany & Co. is trying to be more progressive in their ads.  It features another couple who has a child before they are married.  This is more common now-a-days and Tiffany understands that.  “These impactful scenes convey that modern love is not linear and that true love comes in a variety of forms,” Tiffany said. “These couples represent the spectrum of people who visit Tiffany every day to find that uniquely symbolic ring, the ultimate expression of love.”
