With it’s first edition held in Long BEACH, California, in 1952. The Miss Universe is an annual beauty pageant run by the Miss Universe Organization. The pageant is well know all over the world, and besides all of the prices and recognition that the winner gets, the most glamorous part of the pageant is the Miss Universe crown. But, do you know what is the Miss Universe crown made of or how much is worth? Here are some of the nine crowns ever made for the Miss Universe pageant.

1952This is the first crown ever made of the Miss Universe pageant. Won by the Armi Kussela from Finland, the crown was estimated to be worth around $500,000.

From 2002 to 2007 the crown changed design and designer. The crown was designed by Mikimoto and depicted the phoenix rising, signifying status, power and beauty. The crown had 30 carats in diamonds and 120 South Sea and Akoya pearls. The Estimated value was $250,000

In 2008, the crown was designed by was designed by Rosalina Lydster of Jewelry by Rosalina and Ms. Dang Thi Kim Lien of CAO Fine Jewelry. Valued at $120,000, the crown was made in 18k yellow and white gold, with over 1,000 precious stones, including diamonds, crystas and morganite.

The Miss Universe of 2015, Pia Wurzbach, was crowned with a piece design by the Czech company DIC – Diamonds International Corporation, valued at $300,000. The gorgeous gold crown has over 300 diamonds, 5 pieces of blue topaz and over 150 pieces of blue sapphires.
