Felix Baumgartner Zenith El Primero
Felix Baumgartner is trying to break the sound barrier by sky diving from 120,000 feet up. He is taking a helium balloon to that extreme altitude and if he is successful will break multiple world records. He will have the highest sky dive ever and the longest time in free fall. And watch connoisseurs want to know what kind of watch he will be wearing.
From a bit of research it turns out he sponsored by Zenith and is going to wear an El Primero Striking Tenth. The Striking Tenth is known for being one of the most accurate automatic watches ever made. It is accurate to the 1/10th of a second.
What I’m looking to see is if the watch will be working when he hands. Can a watch like that withstand speeds that eclipse the sound barrier and extreme elevation?
Felix was supposed to dive today but the conditions were too windy to attempt the jump. This was his second time trying. Hopefully he will attempt it tomorrow.
