Rolex Submariner Boca Raton
The Rolex Submariner Boca Raton is one of the most common Rolex watches. It is a sport model diving watch that can reach depths up to 1,000 feet. Of all the Rolex watches I see on wrists, the Submariner is the most popular.
The Submariner is now 60 years old. It was first introduced in 1953 and celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2003. To celebrate 50 years Rolex introduced a Submariner with a green bezel. Until 2003, the Rolex Submariner stainless steel model only included a black dial and black bezel. Since the anniversary edition is a bit more rare, it fetches more money.
The Rolex Submariner has evolved since its inception. The first model Ref: 6204 was only water resistant up to 100 meters, now, the 116610 is resistant up to 1,000 meters. Also, the date function was not introduced on the Submariner until 1965. The size of the case, while not varying much in diameter, has also changed significantly. If you look at an early Sub it appears much smaller than the most recent model. The lugs are much thinner, the dial has smaller markings, and it is much lighter.
Today, the Submariner comes in a few variations. You can get the all steel with black dial and bezel ref: 116610, you can get a steel and yellow gold model with either a blue dial and bezel combo or black combo ref: 116613, an all yellow gold version with a black or blue combo ref: 116618, or an all white gold model with a blue dial and bezel combo ref: 116619.
The Submariner will continue to be one of Rolex’s best sellers due to its sport design and durability. It is watch that can be beat up, worn every day, or stay on the wrist for a formal occasion.
