iPhone Boca Raton
It seems like every year at this time Apple is ready to release a new product. Last year it was the iPad mini and iPhone 5, before that was the iPad 3 and iPhone 4S. Just when you think you have the latest product, nope, you have to go buy a new one. Well, you don’t have to buy a new one, but you want to. Today’s iPhone Boca Raton rumor is about the new iPhone “5C”. The 5C is supposed to be a less expensive version of the iPhone, made out of plastic. It appears that it is going to be released in many different colors. The plastic case will make it more durable and functional and appeal to a wider consumer base. Prices haven’t been announced but the 5C should be much less expensive than the 5 or 5S.
Taiwan’s Apple Daily has released a video of the case of the 5C. In the video the shell of the new phone is placed in a bag with a key and some coins. The bag is then shaken vigorously. Then the shell is taken out and a key is used to try and scratch it. According to the notes on the video the shell didn’t show any scratches and scored very well. The fact that the shell doesn’t scratch is a great selling point to customers.
The size of the shell is approximately 124.5 mm x 59.1 mm. This makes the 5C just a bit bigger than the iPhone 5 and rumored 5S. It has the same shape as the 5 where it is a bit longer and thinner than the 4 or 4S.
It seems like Apple is trying to sell more and more phones this year. They are going to do this by making an iPhone that is cheaper and more affordable. One thing I always liked about Apple is their products were more or less exclusive. You had to pay a bit extra for a device that was cleaner and easier to use than it’s competitor. You also got great customer service. Now with a cheaper iPhone, I think it diminishes the brand a bit. People want an iPhone because it’s made by Apple, just like people want a Rolex because it’s made by Rolex. Yes a Casio and a Rolex both tell the same time, but the Rolex looks better doing it. That was what Apple had, not anymore.
